The body of a woman dumped in an open veld in Kalkuil Village in Odendaalsrus was discovered on Sunday 13 September 2020.
This comes after members of Odendaalsrus SAPS were informed about a body that had been discovered at around 10:45. According to Police Spokesperson,Brigadier Motantsi Makhele, the deceased had a gunshot wound to her head and was found lying on her stomach. Both the cell phones of the victim were still found lying on the crime scene.
“Investigation further revealed that the body seems to have been dragged for a distance of about 50 metres from the nearest road. A 9-mm cartridge and blood traces were found at a place where the deceased had allegedly been shot,” said Makhele.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was 41-year-old Nolisizwe Mdladlamde, who left the house where she was drinking with her boyfriend and friend at about 21:00. She left alone. Makhele indicated that it is not clear what occurred there but residents near the crime scene claimed they had heard a single gunshot at around 22:00 on Saturday night.
No suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of Mdladlamde and the motive for the killing is still unknown at this stage.
