A body of an unknown man was discovered this morning at Joe Solomon Primary School in Heidedal. Bloemfontein Courant went to the scene where the body was discovered behind a pile of bricks in the school’s yard, which is currently closed for rebuilding.
According to police spokesperson, Sergeant Ikobeng Hlubi, a murder case has been opened. “According to the reports, the deceased was chased by two males when he jumped into the school premises. The two suspects attacked the deceased and left his lifeless body there. Suspects are unknown and the deceased is yet to be identified,” said Hlubi.
Maurice Baartman, site supervisor at the school, said that on arrival this morning they found the police at the school busy with the scene. “They demarcated the area and I understood they had found a body just laying behind a set of bricks on site. Apparently at 4 am in the morning there was a taxi parked outside the school. A person jumped over the school’s fence ended up in between the pile of bricks. He was declared dead by police on the scene,” Baartman said. – Pierce van Heerden
