The Bloemfontein Friends of the Zoo host their annual Bibber Snooze and Swim at the Bloemfontein Zoo on Saturday night.
Organiser Brendon Muller says all funds raised during this year’s event will go towards enriching the lives of the zoo’s two new chimpanzees, Louis and Megan.
Tickets cost R30 and are available at the gate. Muller says the swimmers will take to the water at around 7pm, with a bring and braai afterwards.
A prize giving ceremony will take place at 20:00. All swimmers will receive a certificate of participation and there will be lucky draw prizes for the swimmers.
"Everybody is invited to join us for a bring and braai after the swim. Braai fires and a camp fire will be available. It is also a Bibber Snooze, so the people that want to brave the cold with us are more than welcome to snooze," says Muller.
The kiosk will also be open on the evening, selling Coffee, Milo, Hot Chocolate, Pancakes as well as a few other items.
The gate will be open again after the prize giving for people wanting to leave.
