At 19:43 on Tuesday night Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision along O.R. Tambo (Church Street), Bloemfontein. Exact detail to the cause of the crash and preceding events is still speculative and will form part of the South African Police investigation.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the wreckage of the taxi had come to rest on its side, accident debris was littered over a large area. After the injured were examined it was found that two people were in a critical condition, one a mother that was two months pregnant, eight other people were found to have sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor.

Medics from various services worked hand in hand to stabilise the injured before transporting them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
