Bloemfontein claimed a squash double over the weekend with a 9-1 win over the Welkom Rovers in the return leg of the Vivian Welsh Trophy.

In April the team from the City of Roses beat Rovers 7-2 to claim the early bragging rights in the contest.

In Welkom, the visitors reinforced those bragging rights by dropping just nine games during the ten matches, while in the process winning 27 games.

The only match won by the Rovers was when Lehan Leech beat Stefni Meintjies 3 – 0.

The closet game in the challenge was between Ruan Thompson and Pieter Bekker with this match going the full five games before the latter was able to win 3-2.

Sadly for Rovers, the Waugh brothers (Keegan and Jordan), were not competing this time around, and as the scoreline suggests, they were sorely missed.
