Bloem Water has taken students from the Central University of Technology (CUT) on an educational trip on Tuesday.
The water board, accompanied by close to a hundred CUT students from the Bloemfontein campus, along with two lecturers, went to the Rustfontein Water Treatment Works on the N8 road near Botshabelo. According to Bloem Water’s Phelane Phelane, the aim of the trip is to, among other things, educate students about chemicals that cleanse water, how to save water, and drought.
He says this is in commemoration of the Water Month campaign that serves to re-iterate the value of water and its sustainable management.
“The students are asking a lot of questions ranging from the cleanness of the water and its maintenance.”
Phelane says various educational water activities will be held around the province.
