The OFM O’ditions kicked off with a bang at Fleurdal Mall on Thursday 26 January 2023.

Enthusiastic radio lovers and potential presenters eagerly lined up for their chance to audition and become part of the OFM family.

Bloemfontein Courant when to suss out the talent and hear how they feel about the auditions.

Here is what they had to say:

Alicia Stols

I am here because I’ve always been in radio. I have a degree in communication, currently I am unemployed and a stay-at-home mom for my three beautiful babies. It would be an amazing opportunity for me and my family. If I go through I would work extremely hard to make sure the three month contract carries on longer.

Tyrone Willard

Radio has been something that I have always really enjoyed and as soon as I got here [Bloemfontein] in 2017 I went to Kovsie FM, I auditioned and got in and since then I have been waiting for an opportunity like this. When I do go through, I definitely would use the opportunity to grow. Campus radio is different to commercial radio as there is a lot more to learn. As a presenter, you become a brand. I am here to build my brand.

Zaunè Joubert

It is my dream to work for OFM and I think they’re an awesome team doing magical things. I study drama, acting and theatre so it’s been a passion for me. I love my own voice and I love talking.

Loyiso Dongo

I am here to audition for OFM to become a presenter. I found out about the auditions three days ago so it interested me as I was a radio producer before.

Heinn Human and his wife Chanell were accompanied by their daughter Skyelyn for the auditions

Heinn: This is for the experience. A lot of my family members say that I have a nice voice, so I am here to set the record straight so if I don’t come in they can stop moaning about it.

Chanell: I am here for the experience and to support my husband.

Relebohile Mohapi

I am here to embrace my talent. What I love most about radio is that you get news immediately. I’ve done this before and I am ready.
