Biker murder accused back in court on 19 May

Bloemfontein. – Murder suspect Johannes du Toit appeared briefly in the Bloemfontein Regional Court and his case was postponed till 19 May.

Du Toit stands accused of killing Michael Jacobs on the night of 8 November close to Pub Stop bar near Raymond Mhlaba Street. Jacobs was shot five times and succumbed to his wounds on the scene.

During his bail application, Do Toit’s lawyer Johan Kramer told the court his client acted in self-defence, while the state said there’s no dispute that the accused shot the deceased five times. Du Toit earlier testified that he was attacked by Jacobs and after the incident, he was assaulted by members of the public.
