Bfn residents urged to stay on high alert

The Disaster Management Team in Mangaung has issued a statement to urge residents to be on high alert during the predicted heavy rains.

According to a post by the Free State Provincial Government, the Disaster Management Teams have been on the ground to swiftly deal with any emergencies.

So far, they have assisted with one motor vehicle accident at Casino Bridge, where the scene was cleared, a house that collapsed in Phahameng, and tree removals amongst other emergencies.

As a result, locals “are urged to report any distress and damage that may be experienced.”

In case of an emergency, they can contact Mangaung Metro Disaster Control Centre on 051-406-6666 or 051-409-9600.
