Michael Mazibuku, a well-known young entrepreneur in the City of Roses, or as many describe him, “a true hustler”, has made his mark on the social media platform.
A post on Facebook made him the talk of the town, describing him as an inspiration to many and somebody who is always seen smiling. “Michael Mazibuku, selling cakes with a smile and warm good morning greeting even if you are not going to buy,” the Facebook post read.

Mazibuku has been selling homemade cakes at the robot in Oliver Thambo Road since 2015 and is well known by the public. He is an inspiration to many young individuals in Bloemfontein and has big plans in store for his ‘business’. “I am saving money from this ‘business’ to one day open my own bakery in Bloemfontein,” he told Voice.
Mazibuku took over the ‘business’ from his mother in 2015 and has been working at the very same robot every day of the week for the past three years. He originally wanted to study TV production in Johannesburg, but due to financial difficulties he could not pursue his dream. “I have realised that this is what I am good at and this is what I have a passion for. I have been seeing growth in the ‘business’ every year,” he added. He is saving up for his own bakery and at the same time supports his family with the money he makes from selling cakes.
Mazibuku, who resides in Phola Park, wakes up early every morning and arrives at the robot at Oliver Thambo Road at 06:00 to start selling his homemade cakes.
