Bfn flying squad bust Lesotho nationals with stolen construction equipment

The Bloemfontein Flying Squad arrested three Lesotho nationals for possession of suspected stolen equipment in Lovedale on Wednesday.

According to Police spokesperson, Peter Kareli, construction equipment was stolen at a storage company in Bloemfontein just after midnight on Christmas day.

Kareli says police received a tipoff about a dilapitated house in Lovedale possibly housing stolen goods.

He adds that three armed men overpowered the on duty security guard before taking off with the items.

“They tied his hands up and left him in the guard room. They took one of the keys which could open one of the containers there. From there they managed to take that construction equipment which was recovered yesterday.”

The security guard was rescued by another colleague who was reporting for duty in the morning.

Kareli says the suspects, aged between 27 and 29 years old, will appear before the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court soon.
