Bfn family found murdered; son arrested

A 42-year-old man has been arrested for the alleged triple murder of his parents and his younger brother in Bloemfontein in the Free State today.

The provincial police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, confirms that the police arrested the suspect at his home in Raymond Mhlaba Street in Noordhoek this morning. He explains that the police responded to a domestic homicide call to the house.

Makhele says on arrival the deceased bodies of a 68-year-old father, a 65-year-old mother, and a 40-year-old son were found in the bedrooms with gunshot wounds to the heads.

He adds that a revolver, which was allegedly used in the shooting, was found placed on top of the mother’s body. The suspect, which is the son and sibling to the deceased, is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on 3 September 2020.
