Mangaung Metro Executive Mayor Thabo Manyoni has revealed at the sod turning ceremony of the planned Airport Development Node, that the project will amount to R11 billion, once fully developed.
A town the size of the Bloemfontein CBD will be established opposite the Bram Fischer International Airport along the N8.
The development will include an International Convention Centre, a mall, mixed residential area as well as a rail station.
Manyoni says the development will create 11 000 jobs and it will aim to bring Botshabelo and Thaba Nchu ‘closer’ to Bloemfontein.
