    Die plaaslike aandelebeurs (JSE All Share) het laat in Januarie 2018 ‘n hoogtepunt bereik, en toe weer einde Augustus 2018 ook op goeie vlakke gaan draai.

    Van daar af was dit net ‘n afdraande pad. Sedert 26 Januarie 2018, tot en met die hede, het die plaaslike aandelebeurs reeds meer as 15% geval. Die huidige verskynsel van vallende aandelebeurse is egter nie net tot Suid-Afrika beperk nie, maar wêreldwyd ervaar beleggers in aandele dieselfde hol kol op die maag.

    Die huidige val in aandelebeurse kan grootliks verduidelik word. Daar is heelwat redes. Die groot vraag is egter wat staan jou, wat blootstelling aan aandele het, nou te doen? Die meeste mense spaar vir aftrede, hoofsaaklik in aandele. Die meeste mense, wat reeds afgetree is, het redelike blootstelling aan aandele, en enige paniek in dié stadium is vir seker geregverdig, want syfers lyk nie tans goed nie.

    Wat staan jou dus te doen? Ek dink die belangrikste is om nou jou paniek te onderdruk, anders gaan jy nie ‘n objektiewe besluit kan neem nie. Probeer om die feite uit te sif tussen al die geraas wat nou in omloop is. Bly dan by basiese beleggingsbeginsels, knyp jou oë toe, en druk deur. Daar was al etlike valle in finansiële markte oor die jare – sommige veel erger as die huidige, ander minder erg – en nog elke liewe keer het dinge tog weer reggekom.

    As mens dus na die “track record” van aandelebeurse gaan kyk, het dit dus ‘n 100% rekord van herstel na elke val. Die herstel vind ook vinnig en onverwags plaas, so al lyk jou papierverliese tans groot, sal ‘n herstel in aandelebeurse die verliese vinnig uitwis.
    Dus, om terug te kom na wat jy moet doen. Jy moet niks doen nie. Bly by jou langtermyn-beleggingstrategie, en as die paniek jou beetpak gaan gesels met jou finansiële beplanner vir bietjie gemoedsrus.

    Indien jy nou, of binnekort, geld gaan beskikbaar hê om te belê, kan jy ‘n effense ander strategie volg. Die geskiedenis het al vir ons gewys dat jou beste langtermyngroei uit aandele kom. Jy wil dus op die einde van die dag ‘n redelike deel van jou kapitaal aan aandele blootstel. Tans is daar egter heelwat onsekerheid en jy weet nie of die aandelebeurs nog verder kan val, voor ‘n herstel begin plaasvind nie.

    Dit sal dus wys wees om nie op die oomblik enige nuwe geld ten volle aan ‘n markverwante belegging bloot te stel nie, maar dit eerder met tyd te doen. In praktyk sal jy dus ongeveer 20% van jou “nuwe” kapitaal in ‘n belegging met aandeleblootstelling plaas.

    Die res kan jy eerder in ‘n kombinasie van Inkomstefondse of selfs ‘n Geldmarkfonds plaas en oor die volgende 3 tot 6 maande in die markverwante belegging infaseer. Op die manier kry jy onmiddellike blootstelling, maar beskerm jou kapitaal teen ‘n verdere val in die aandelebeurs. Laat weet gerus indien jy vrae het.
