The ANC in Ward 15 hosted an inaugural beauty contest at Tsoseletso High School in Bloemfontein, in conjunction with the Chief Leeuw Foundation as part of Heritage Month celebrations.

A total of 48 girls between the ages of 7 and 25 participated in the event, which was divided into three categories, namely Miss Ward 15, Miss Teen and Little Miss Daisy. “The spirits were high and the young people clearly appreciated the opportunity. The event was aimed at helping young girls to become better future leaders. Most of them want to become models but they don’t know the proper way to do modelling. The winners will be doing community service and will be motivating other young girls,” said Leeuw.

The winners in the Little Miss Daisy category are: second princess Bokomoso Choute, first princess Busi Sefile, and the queen Onalenna Win. The winners in the Miss Teen category are: second princess Rethabile Tsotsotso, first princess Fezeka Mbovane, and the queen Tlotlegang Lichaba. The winners of the Miss Ward 15 are: second princess Refilwe Khalienyane, first princess Seitisho Mokone and the Queen Lesedi Lichaba. – Lebakeng Nkabi
