Basic Health Care under scrutiny in Qwaqwa

Basic health services in QwaQwa in the Free State is under scrutiny today as MEC for health, Montsheng Tsiu, is visiting the area.

This following numerous complaints about the lack of proper health services from the Thabo Mofutsanyana district and across the province.

Today’s campaign in the area includes the screening and treatment of a variety of illnesses and conditions by a group of healthcare professionals accompanying Tsiu and his team.

Tsiu says she has gone to different services since the campaign started this morning and also engaged with various programs that are also present to assist in that area.

The MEC was also briefed about the on-going program, which includes mobile clinics to rural areas crisscrossing the Mofutsanyana district daily.

Departmental spokesperson, Mondli Mvambi, told OFM News that the campaign is designed to implement a policy in the department named ‘Primary Health Care Re-engineering’ which in its essence attempts to bring primary healthcare services to the people.
