Back to ‘the city that never sleeps’

James Marais as Elvis

Jayson King, well-known Cape Town music director and producer, will be travelling to Bloemfontein on 21 March 2020 to bring you his latest hit stage production, Back to Las Vegas.

The show, which will be staged in the Diamond Lil’s at the Windmill Casino on Saturday 21 March from 19:30, promises to take you on an unforgettable musical journey to the “city that never sleeps”.

According to King it will be a bright, happy and colourful show with entertainment by some of South Africa’s best singers.

“The show features SA’s best Elvis Tribute with James Marais from Cape Town playing the lead. He will perform songs of the king of rock ‘n roll from the ’50s era until the time of his death. The highlight of his performance will be songs from the production Elvis Live at Madison Square Gardens.

He dons the white cat suit and brings “Proud Mary” and “Johnny B Goode” to life like you would experience at a real Elvis concert. James will also bring on his partner, Monique Cassells, who does a tribute to Marilyn Monroe with “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend” and also Cher’s version of “Will you still love me tomorrow” as part of their playlist,” says King.

King, who celebrates his 60th year in show business, still belts out some of the most exciting ballads and crooning styles and also swings in the style of Michael Bublé. He will be supported by another powerhouse, who goes by her stage name, Sumaya.

King says Sumaya can sing any genre, any style, any beat. She has been a member of the Jayson Kings Great Pretenders show for over 15 years.

“It’s time for Bloemfontein to join the company and enjoy some world class entertainment from a handpicked cast that will satisfy your every expectation,” says King.

A limited amount of tickets is available from Zubeida Kajee on 072-698-9677 at R120 per person.
