Back to school, back to reality

The MEC of Education in the Free State, Dr Tate Makgoe, kicked off the school year by visiting the Grade 1 learners at Credence Primary School in Heidedal. This was part of the department’s school monitoring programme for the 2022 academic year. The department confirmed that it has implemented all necessary precautionary measures to ensure a smooth start to the school year. During his visit to Credence Primary School, Makgoe encouraged educators to have an impact on every child's life on a personal and academic basis this new school year. As the new school year commenced yesterday, the Bloemfontein Courant News Team took to the streets to capture some of the little ones’ excitement on their first day of school.

MEC of Education in the Free State, Dr Tate Makgoe, paid a visit to Credence Primary School in Heidedal on 12 January 2022. Makgoe visited first-day scholars and shared a little motivational message with them.

Makgoe highlighted the importance of staying in school and thanked educators for the vital role they play in laying the foundation.

 

Sudre Grundlingh was also excited to begin her school career at Eunice Primary School.

Mandla Mcasha, is a grade 1 learner at Brebner Primary School, and he is boasting a very excited smile on his first day of school.

Letsoara Katrina from Batho Primary School was excited to kick-start her school journey.

Kgothatso Mahloko is also a grade 1 learner at Brebner Primary School and she was just as excited on her first day.

Leah van der Merwe was excited to make new friends as she starts her school journey at Eunice Primary School.

Batho Primary School was buzzing with excitement as first-day scholars could not wait to get their day started. Bonolo and Lehlonolo Jingoes were jumping with joy on their first day.
