The ANCYL in the Free State has requested that one of their members should be placed as MEC for the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) in the province.
This follows after former Cogta MEC, Olly Mlamleli, was deployed as the new mayor of Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality.
ANC provincial secretary, William Bulwane, explained at a media briefing that took place in Bloemfontein that in due course, they will talk about Mlamleli’s replacement.
“We are just in the process of consultation with all our stakeholders, as the deploying committee guides us. The premier is in consultation with the secretary, the national office as well as other roleplayers in the province. We are busy with that particular consultation and once we are done, the announcement will be made by the provincial government. The African National Congress is busy with that particular process and will not talk much about it,” he says.
