ANC welcomes former members back “home”

REFILWE MEKOA

According to the Free State ANC Secretary William Bulwane the party keeps evolving, hence former members are re-joining.

William Bulwane said the ANC is not stagnant and they are confident that more former ANC members will return before Election Day. He was speaking at a media briefing in Bloemfontein last week, where former ANC members who were members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the Congress of the People (Cope) went back to the ANC.

Bulwane said they are expecting the return of those who have joined the Democratic Alliance and added that they have been emphasising to everyone who has left the organisation to return.

“Those who have returned will not go back to other parties as they can see who is running the show. That is why they have decided to come back to the ANC where they belong and where they know that there is democracy within the party. If they do decide to leave, they are at the end joining us voluntarily and they will leave voluntarily, which we will not cry about it,” Bulwane said.

More than twenty EFF and Cope members were given ANC T-shirts by provincial women’s league chairperson Sisi Ntombela to demonstrate their return. Former provincial Cope leader, Casca Mokitlane, and Cope’s member of the legislature, Getrude Mothupi, are some of the former ANC members who returned to the organisation.
