ANC FS taking stock of its own

The ANC in the Free State will hold a two-day Lekgotla where the party aims to take stock of the performance of government since the implementation of the party’s 2014 Election Manifesto.

It was revealed in a statement issued on the party’s social media page that the party will especially focus on its structures in the province, as well as the assessment of its members who are serving in public office. The party’s spokesperson in the province, Thabo Meeko, said those deployed will be assessed in line with the party’s ANC manifesto and community commitments.

Meeko says the outcomes of the Lekgotla will inform the provincial committee to make decisions and intervene where necessary, particularly with regards to matters related to service delivery. He also stated that ANC’s national delegation will be present at the event. The Lekgotla will take place at the Floreat Hall at the Bram Fischer Building in Bloemfontein from 21 to 22 September.

The party in the province says as it is starting with the listing process for people who will be deployed in both provincial legislature and national government, it is mindful of the fact that the current political landscape requires that its leaders not only have leading capacity, and popularity with the communities they serve, but that they also have a wide skills set so that the party will be able to discharge its mandate with ease.

This Lekgotla will give the party the opportunity to assess those who are currently deployed as well as the type of leadership the ANC would like to deploy to meet the demands of these communities.
