The hearing of the matter of six ANC members in the Free State who are challenging the provincial leadership of Ace Magashule and his provincial executive committee, has just concluded in Johannesburg. The Constitutional Court heard the matter this morning. The court will hand down an order tomorrow morning at 10:00. The group had asked the Free State High Court to grant an order to stop Magashule and his PEC from working. They also wanted the court to order the national ANC to dissolve the Free State PEC, appoint an interim management structure and annul the province’s nominations for the ANC elective conference in Mangaung in December. The high court refused to hear the merits of the case and dismissed the application with costs. It said the group’s publication of notice of its application was irregular and materially defective.
