ANC bus crash drivers back in court in March

The two drivers who allegedly swapped seats when a bus, carrying 65 ANC members overturned on the N1 in April of last year, will appear in the Winburg Regional Court again on March 14.

Free State police spokesperson, Mamello Mokhuoane says the case was postponed today to allow the two accused to consult with their lawyers.

Mophadi Mogashoa and Ticky Maake are each charged with ten counts of culpable homicide and one of reckless and negligent driving.

This comes after ten people died when the bus carrying the ANC members to Ekurhuleni, in Gauteng, crashed on the N1 near Winburg.

The two accused were later formally charged after a thorough investigation by the Winburg police and appeared in court for the first time on January 24. – Mark Steenbok/Courant News
