The two bus drivers allegedly responsible for the accident which claimed the lives of ten ANC members in April last year appeared in the Winburg Regional Court on Tuesday.
According to police spokesperson, Mamello Mokhuoane, the case against Mphadi Mogashoa and Ticky Maake has been postponed to 18 April to allow the State to allocate the case to a new prosecutor.
Mogashoa and Maake allegedly tried to swap seats while the bus, carrying 65 ANC members, was in transit.
The bus subsequently overturned and the two are facing ten counts of culpable homicide and one for reckless and negligent driving. It was carrying the party members to Ekurhuleni, in Gauteng, after they had attended the launch of the ANC’s local government elections manifesto in Port Elizabeth.
