After-care teacher accused of raping boy (13) will reappear in court

The 28-year-old female aftercare teacher accused of raping a 13-year-old boy from the Brandwag Primary School in Bloemfontein in the Free State, will reappear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’ Court on Thursday 16 January 2020.

The teacher, who cannot be named, allegedly took her victim to a flat on 15 November 2019 before the incident happened. The case was reported by the victim’s parents at the Park Road Police Station and she was arrested on the same day.

OFM News previously reported she was released on R500 bail last year after appearing in the same court. The state prosecutor, Johan de Vries, did not oppose her bail application.

De Vries said according to some of the claims made by the defense team, the woman and the boy went to a local park where alcohol was consumed. Afterwards, they went to the flat where the incident allegedly happened. The teacher was suspended by the school after the incident.
