“Rescue dogs aren’t broken. They’ve simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human, we would call them wise.” This is according to a local animal rescue organisation, New Beginnings, which has an album on its Facebook Page dedicated to dogs and puppies that are up for adoption.
“They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write, the ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Don’t pity a rescue dog. Adopt one! And be proud to have their greatness by your side,” the post reads.
According to New Beginnings, many animals are waiting for a home and adoptions have been very slow this month.
“If you can open your heart and home to a rescue animal, your life will change for good! It is very sad to see so many animals waiting so long for their forever homes … adopt, don’t shop!”
Follow these steps to start your adoption process:
- Contact New Beginnings.
- Complete an application.
- Once your application has been received, a home check will be arranged.
- If the application has been approved, a fee of R950 is payable. This includes a collar tag, vaccinations, deworming, etc.
Once these steps have been completed, your pet will be ready to go home. For more information on adoption, contact 072-636-6663 or send an email to adoptions@newbeginingscharity.co.za or have a look at the dogs and puppies available on New Beginnings’ Facebook Page.
