Ace Magashule pays tribute to fallen soldiers

BLOEMFONTEIN: Premier Ace Magashule has expressed condolences to the families of the 13 soldiers killed in the Central African Republic (CAR) this week.

All the soldiers killed in the CAR are from 1 Parachute Battalion at Tempe in Bloemfontein. Twenty-seven soldiers were wounded during violence in the CAR’s capital city of Bangui.

On behalf of the Free State provincial government and the people of the province, Premier Magashule said: “We want to express our sympathy for the loss of these brave soldiers and to let their families know that our thoughts are with them during this difficult time”.

“Words cannot even begin to express our sorrow. To the affected families, please remember that you are not alone. We will always be with you,” Premier Magashule said.

The Free State provincial government salutes the fallen soldiers as they paid the ultimate price fighting for peace and stability in the African continent.

Premier Magashule wished all the wounded soldiers speedy recovery and called on the community to support the families of the soldiers who lost their lives.
