Bloemfonten. – The formal bail application of 18-year old Khethang Ramolula has been rolled over until tomorrow in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court, due to time constraints today.
He stands accused of the brutal murder of Kovsie lecturer Lehlonolo Mathengtheng. Mathengtheng was a lecturer and doctorate student in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Virology, and his body was found in his Willows flat last month.
The state today brought and urgent application before the court that the media take or publish no photographs of the accused, as an identity parade is still to be conducted. They claim it could jeopardise the state’s case. The investigating officer, Thabo Mogetsi, supported the state’s application. Magistrate Bernice Claassen granted the application, saying publishing pictures of the accused could be detrimental to the state’s case.
The case continues.
