The third edition of the Ahadi Sessions takes place at the Civic Theatre on 23 April. It will showcase various creative forms, with performances by Bloemfontein dancers, singers, as well as exclusive live acts by BasicCity, BKNGGG and Ela Villa.
The Ahadi Sessions, the brainchild of Michael Maringa Rumbi and Malcolm Mokgosi, is a platform geared towards developing and empowering local creatives. “Our platform is about three things; growth, development and an amazing show,” explained Rumbi.
According to Mokgotsi, “The word ‘Ahadi’ means ‘promise’ in Swahili. We have made a promise to ourselves to prioritize community over competition, and try our best to work with the creatives together with audiences in a bid to achieve our philosophy.”
