The pressure group named the Mangaung Service Delivery Forum (MSDF) has met with the Executive Mayor of the Metro, Mxolisi Siyonzana, the executive management of the metro, and the Free State Provincial Government following their shutdown march.
OFM News, the MSDF proposed an urgent Mangaung Lekgotla meeting of two days. The purpose of the 2-day meeting would be to deal with the issues the community of Mangaung is faced with. The issues raised in the meeting included the implementation and enforcement of by-laws, a service delivery programme of action, a roll-out plan for a massive presidential job opportunities programme, and community-level recruitment and management processes.
The provincial government has agreed to reply to the pressure group with a written response concerning their demands within 14 days. However, the meeting was successful as some of the resolutions to the issues have been found and confirmed to be considered.
In addition, they can be implemented right away by different government departments while others are long-term goals that also require more community consultations. A follow-up meeting will be held with different government departments to iron out outstanding issues to achieve amicable solutions for the best interest of our communities.
