The VKB Knights Awards function took place in Bloemfontein on Wednesday evening and just as they did throughout the 2018/19 season with the bat, Keegan Petersen and Raynard van Tonder, dominated.

Keegan Petersen, who received a Cricket South Africa nomination for the 4-Day Domestic Series Player of the Season, was the big winner by claiming no less than five of the seven awards on offer.

Petersen was named as the Knights 4-Day Domestic Series Player of the Year, Momentum 1-Day Cup Player of the Year, the Knights Players’ Player of the Year, the Knights Most Valuable Player of the Year, and he also received the Knights Fan Choice Award.

The former South Africa U19 captain, Van Tonder, in his turn was name as the T20 Challenge Player of the Year and scooped the Knights Most Improved Player of the Year.

The Knights’ head coach, Alan Kruger, also took the opportunity to name his squad for the upcoming 2019/20 season. Pite van Biljon will once again captain the team for the season, while there are new faces added to the squad.
