More than 80 000 applications for the Lesotho Special Permits

The Department of Home Affairs has already received more than 80 000 applications since yesterday for the Lesotho Special Permit.

Speaking at the Maseru Border Post today (Thursday), Minister Malusi Gigaba said about 54 000 of the applications  were submitted online and 51 000 of the applications have already processed already.

“Which means we have a remaining of about 30 000 applications plus another 3 000 that have done almost everything of the application process electronically except to have their bio-metrics taken and captured and therefore presenting themselves physically at the Visa facilitation centres.

“This means that we have more or less 34 000 people’s applications that  still need to be  processed by making payments and presenting themselves at the Visa facilitation centres,” said Gigaba.
