62-year-old arrested for stock theft

A 62-year-old man was arrested yesterday by the Kuruman stock theft and Public Order Policing (POP) Units in the Northern Cape, for stock theft at Seoding village outside Mothibistad.

Upon searching the suspect’s residence, police discovered three sheep carcasses. According to police spokesperson, Mohale Ramatseba, the suspect was arrested after failing to disclose to authorities about the whereabouts of the stolen goods.

The Cluster Commander of John Taolo Gaetsewe district, Johan Bean, encouraged all police officials in the district to be consistently alert on instances of this nature, particularly during the festive season.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Mothibistad Magistrate court soon.
