Two-month baby killed, dumped on field in Phase 7


A case of murder has been opened by Bloemspruit police following the discovery of a body of a baby boy presumed to be between two and three months.

It is reported that the body was wrapped in a white plastic bag on an open field in Phase 7 in Bloemfontein. SAPS Spokesperson, Thabo Lithabe, says a passer-by discovered the body on Saturday afternoon at around 17:00 and alerted the police.

Lithabe added that there are no suspects as yet and the police are inviting the community of Phase 7 to a public meeting on Monday afternoon at 17:00 at the open space where Community Policing Forum meetings are normally held.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and report at the nearest police station or inform Detective Constable Tsietsi Thulo of Bloemspruit Police on 082 465 5884.
