Traffic in the Free State province is slowly subsiding. Traffic flow through the central province was high on Friday, with holiday makers travelling to their various destinations. On Friday morning an accident on the N3 near Harrismith caused traffic flow to be halted, which caused delays.
Free State Department of Traffic Spokesperson, Kabelo Moloabi, says they expect traffic levels to remain low today, as they believe that most people have done their travelling already.
“We are still experiencing a bit of high volumes on the N3, the south bound travelling in the direction of Kwa Zulu Natal. But when we look at the N1 both the north and the south, it’s now normal. We have been monitoring it and at around 3 o’ clock in the morning it started to subside,” says Moloabi.
Moloabi added that for now, things on the roads have been quiet.
