Three people have been arrested after a murder in Botshabelo.
The three suspects, Mookgo Portia Mpailane (20), Lehlohonolo Bambatha (18), and Keketso Ishmael Rahlaho (20), will appear in the Botshabelo Magistrate’s Court today for a formal bail application after they first appeared on charges of murder at the same court last week.
According to police spokesperson, Sinah Mpakane, on 10 October 2016 police asked assistance to identify the body of an unknown man who was believed to be in his 20’s.
“The deceased was found by a passerby who alerted the police on Saturday 8 October at about 7:30. He was found in an open field near Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium next to the place where they manufacture bricks, on the side of Section J, Botshabelo. The deceased was identified as Tumelo Raymond Tsaoane from Section T in Botshabelo.”
Mpakane further explained that Tumelo was found with an open wound on the forehead, believed to be inflicted with a stone that was lying next to him. He also had bruises on his body, showing that he had also been assaulted.
“During investigation, three suspects, two men and one woman, were arrested in connection with Tumelo’s murder and the motive is believed to be robbery,” she said.
The murder case is being investigated at the Boithuso Police Station.
