Police in Ficksburg have arrested three people for stock theft on Wednesday.
This follows a joint stock theft operation conducted by the Peka Port of Entry together with the South African National Defense Force (SANDF), Ladybrand K9, crime intelligence and local farmers. Police say the operation was aimed at addressing stock theft and cross border crimes.
“Following an intelligence driven information, the three suspects, aged between 31 and 46, were arrested at Hope Valley Farm. They were charged with stock theft after being found in possession of 15 suspected stolen sheep to the value of R22 000.00, ” said spokesperson Phumelelo Dhlamini.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Ficksburg Magistrate Court soon.
