Soutpan robbers caught

Quick reaction from the police at Soutpan and Glen has led to the arrest of two men that robbed a business in Ikgomotseng near Soutpan. Free State police spokesperson, Chaka Marope, says three men entered a supermarket and held a cashier at gunpoint. The men took an unknown amount of cash, cell phone vouchers and cigarettes. The group fled the scene in a white Toyota Tazz. Marope says the Soutpan police warned their colleagues at Glen to be on the lookout. The robbers, however, abandoned the vehicle near Glen alongside the road to Bloemfontein and escaped into the field. Police started a search for them and two of the men were arrested. Police units are still in the area looking for the third suspect. Marope says the two detained suspects will appear in court on Monday. –
