Six arrested for murder in Bloemspruit

Free State police arrested six suspects for murder.

Bloemspruit police in Bloemfontein, followed a crime intelligence led information and arrested six suspects aged between 20 and 32 in relation to two murders that were committed in the early hours of the morning today.

According to a police statement, the suspects were found in a shack with clothes and four knives that had blood stains.

“This after bodies of two males were found with stab wounds in Phase 9 and three people murdered over the weekend in Phase 9 and 10. The first body was found lying in the street without any identification and the other one the 32 years old deceased was stabbed outside his yard,” says police spokesperson Peter Kareli.

According to him, Bloemspruit police are busy gathering information to see if the arrested suspects can be linked to three other murders that happened that were committed on the weekend.

All suspect will appear in court soon.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Free State, Lieutenant General Jacob Tsumane appreciated the good work by police in ensuring that suspects are swiftly arrested. He further indicated that “We will not give criminals any space to breathe and their imminent arrests will enlist confidence in our communities that we are still in control. We will not allow criminals to render our province lawless.”
