Robbery at Loch Logan Waterfront

An investigation by Loch Logan Waterfront’s management of an armed robbery at a store selling high-end cellular phones, computers, and other consumer electronics, is underway.

This comes after four smartly dressed men robbed a store in the mall in broad daylight yesterday.

The mall’s Marketing Consultant, Meryl Henning, confirmed the robbery and said, fortunately, no-one was injured. According to Chaka Marope, no arrests have yet been made. He says the robbers, posing as businessmen about to have an executive meeting, entered the store at about 12:30. They went to the service manager’s office.

One of the men displayed a firearm and told the manager to remain calm and open the safe.

Marope says one of the robbers dressed in a blue suit took out two bags from a briefcase he had with him.

The robber then put devices to the value of about R200 000 in the bags. The robbers went to the parking area of the mall and fled in a blue BMW with a Free State registration number. – Christal-Lize Muller/Courant News
