Three armed robbers went home empty handed as they tried to rob a supermarket in the early hours of Tuesday the 1 February 2017.

It was at about 03:30 when security personnel were patrolling around a shopping complex in Thaba Nchu.  Three armed men pointed guns at them and instructed them to go to a nearby open field.  One gunmen allegedly held them hostage on the open field and two went to the supermarket.  The two allegedly broke in and entered the supermarket.  While they were inside an alarm went off and the supermarket manager went to Thaba Nchu Police Station to report the alarm.

Thaba Nchu Police Station members along with Selosesha Cluster Tactical Response Team responded immediately.  Upon arrival they cordoned off the scene and started searching for the suspects who were believed to be hiding inside the supermarket’s ceiling.  The whole supermarket complex was searched but they were no signs of the suspects.
