If you’re into country rock or “roots rock” as some like to call it, then you need to make sure that you will be at the Scarlet Room in Bloemfontein on Thursday night. Pretoria blues and rock band, Bright Lights Big City, will be in town.
Apart from their laid back folk rock music, audiences can also look forward to free entry as there will be no cover charge. According to lead singer, Donovan Bourne, “We’re actually very excited about coming to Bloem. The crowd have just the vibe and energy we’re looking for and we’re hoping that they’ll enjoy some of the original sing along, howling wolf songs, we have lined up just for them.”
Bourne, who also divulges that the innovative band is always looking for new inspiration through new venues, says they are also looking forward to discovering the venue mentioned above, which is in Langenhoven Park, where they’ll set foot for the first time. He promises a night of laughter and entertainment for every member of the family. He firmly believes that his band’s roots rock sounds will cut across all ages in the audiences as they’ll appeal to just about everyone at the event.
The band, which renames its tours every year, has decided to call this year’s tour the “The Hare’s Ear Tour”. It will kick off in Bloemfontein on Thursday, before moving onto other parts of the country over the course of a few days, until 22 April 2017.
