The man who tried to solicit money from high profile leaders in the country while using North West Premier, Supra Mahumapelo’s name, is set to face more charges.
According to Hawks spokesperson, Tlangelani Rikhotso, a charge for conspiracy to murder as well as another charge for intimidation will be added to the fraud charges. Rikhotso says the other charges are to be added on the because Hawks investigations found that the also threatened to bomb the premier’s home when his extortion attempts were unsuccessful.
Rikhotso stated that though the man only faces charges of fraud at the moment, the other two charges will later be added and investigations are still underway.
The conman was arrested on Christmas eve in Kuruman and he is set to appear at the Mmabatho Magistrate’s court on the 4 January 2017 for a bail application. Until then, the 25 year old man will remain in custody.
