Pitch and polish your business ideas

Pitch and polish your business ideas

Do you have an innovative and brilliant business or idea? Do you want to learn how to pitch your business idea effectively? Do you want to take your existing business to the next level? If you have answered yes to any of the above, then Pitch & Polish is the entrepreneurial training workshop for you.
Many young entrepreneurs struggle to raise finance, not because their ideas are flawed, but because they don’t know how to pitch their business or ideas effectively. Pitch & Polish is designed to address this issue.
Pitch & Polish is an “Idols”-type competition whereby contestants are given the opportunity to present (Pitch) their business or business idea to an audience. The members of the audience are primed to act as investors and bankers. Would they, on the basis of the pitch, invest in the entrepreneur?
Throughout the day, the facilitator takes both the participants and the audience through a workshop designed to develop lateral thinking skills. As part of the workshop, the facilitator, in conjunction with the audience, works with the contestants to improve (Polish) their pitch. The process highlights the current inadequacies and gaps that contestants have in their pitches. Through a combination of the workshop, audience participation, and the facilitator’s probing, it is a requisite for contestants to produce a compelling, well-rounded pitch. Pitch & Polish is a unique synthesis of training, audience participation and competition. The beauty of the Pitch & Polish format is that the audience learns as much as the contestants.
The day culminates in each of the entrepreneurs pitching their polished business idea to a panel of expert judges. The judges ask clarifying questions and then provide feedback to each contestant, before appointing the day’s winner. Because entrepreneurs are inherently competitive, the Pitch & Polish format provides a powerful mechanism to vicariously educate and inspire aspirant entrepreneurs.
