The 20-year-old circumcision school initiate from Peter Swart in Bloemfontein remains in hospital after having been assaulted by his teachers at the school more than 12 days ago.
According to police spokesperson, Malebo Khosana, the victim, who cannot be named for reasons related to initiate practices, is still at the Katleho Hospital in Virginia.
No information on the nature of his injuries has been provided and although a docket for assault with intention to cause grievous bodily harm was opened, Khosana says that no arrests have been made thus far.
The alleged attack happened on 30 December 2016 at a circumcision school in Masilo, Theunissen.
It was reported in a statement by the Police that following the incident, police and health officials were called to the scene where they found that the victim was assaulted by his teachers and was then rushed to Katleho hospital in Virginia.
The initiation school has been closed and all facilities at the school have been dismantled following this attack.
This incident follows another incident in Rosendal on 20 December 2016 where three initiation school teachers were arrested for the assault of Sabata Tladi, an initiate who was admitted in Senekal hospital following the alleged assault against him.
It is alleged that the teachers had assaulted the victim, Sabata Tladi (aged 36) with sticks and dragged him around the farm with a running horse thirteen days earlier on.
He was discovered by a police member who went to the Hapashasha initiation school situated in one of Rosendal farms, and upon arrival, the police inspector found Tladi with assault injuries all over his body.
The suspects were detained and are attending court trials related to the incident. Since then, the initiation school has been closed down and the rest of the initiates have been transferred to another legal initiation school in Rosendal, where they graduated as initiates and went to their respective homes on 25 December 2016.
