A case of theft against two municipality employees has been postponed to 18 January 2017 after they appeared before the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Mpho Mothabeng (31) and Tshepo Eugene Moopela (33) were arrested on 30 December 2016 after police received information about a municipality employee who stole municipal property.
On arrival at the scene, they discovered that six hard drives were stolen.
The value of the stolen property was R18 000 and were all recovered from the owner of a pawnshop in Kwaggafontein.
Investigation led police to one of municipal employee and his accomplice who is a computer mogul.
The employee was arrested on his work place at municipal offices while his accomplice handed himself over to the police.
Mothabeng is released on R1 000 bail and Moopela remained in custody until their next court appearance. The case of theft is being registered and investigated at Parkroad SAPS.
