Mohoje set for Bok return

The Toyota Cheetahs flank and South Africa A captain, Oupa Mohoje, is set to make his Springbok return.

Mohoje will be named in Allister Coetzee’s Springbok squad on Saturday morning.

This means that the player will miss a large part of the Free State Cheetahs Currie Cup campaign which gets underway on Friday afternoon.

Since Mohoje’s return from an injury after missing the start of the Super Rugby, he has been a stalwart in the Cheetahs’ campaign and also proved his worth during the two unofficial Tests against the England Saxons.

Mohoje has played eight Tests for the Springboks already but has been in the mix since being omitted from the squad for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Coetzee did confirm yesterday that neither Willie le Roux nor JP Pietersen will be in the side for the upcoming tournament against the All Blacks, Wallabies and Pumas.

The coach is expected to spring a major surprise by naming the Springbok Sevens speedster, Seabelo Senatla, in the team at the expense of Lwazi Mvovo.

Patrick Lambie is also doubtful after failing to sufficiently recover from concussion he sustained during the 1st Test against Ireland.

Coetzee will name his squad for the gruelling international tournament at the conclusion of the Super Rugby final between the Hurricanes and Lions at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington. – MORGAN PIEK
