Memorial service to be held for Thaba ‘Nchu councillor

Mangaung Metro has passed its condolences to the family of ward councillor Tankiso Moea, who passed away last Wednesday.

Mangaung Mayor Olly Mlamleli said: “He was one of our hard working councillors, who dedicated his time to serving his community.”

During the special council meeting held on Wednesday, all the opposition parties also sent messages of condolences to Moea’s family and friends.

In her address to council, Mlamleli said she was deeply disturbed by political parties who are already canvassing for votes.

“I’m saddened that there are people who are already canvassing while his body still lies in the morgue,” said Mlamleli.

She urged the councillors to be sensitive to the family and friends of the Moea family during this emotional time.

A memorial service will be held at Morolong Hall, in Thaba Nchu on Thursday at 15:00.

The funeral will be held also at Morolong Hall in Thaba Nchu on Sunday at 08:00.
