Job seekers in the Thaba Nchu area of the Free State are being encouraged to attend the Labour Department’s community outreach campaign at Barolong Hall on Tuesday. The campaign aims to bring together employers and potential job seekers to talk about issues of job creation. The department’s Public Employment Services, along with the Unemployment Insurance Fund, Compensation Fund and the Inspection and Enforcement Services Directorates will also be there to check if employers have registered their employees for UIF and also check the status of their Compensation Fund.
Free State Legislature spokesperson, Josial Ramokoena, said: “So we do have a database where job seekers are registering and then we also have a database where employers are registering job opportunities. So, as we get those, we would merge job opportunities with job seekers, taking into cognisance issues such as qualifications and everything that has to do with the job itself.”
Buses have been arranged for community members in far-flung areas of Thaba Nchu, such as Motlatla, Rooibuilt, Serwalo (Kopi) and Zone 1. The buses will start picking community members up at 07:00.
