The final round of the Sunfoil series begins this morning at it is also the most important week with anyone of five teams that can lift the trophy on Sunday afternoon.

The defending champions, the Titans, are currently leading the standings but have less than a three-point lead over the VKB Knights.

The Knights are in Johannesburg where they will take on the Highveld Lions at the Wanderers.

With bowling attack of Duanne Oliver and Marchant de Lange, which is the fastest and deadliest in the competition this season, the Knights couldn’t have asked for a better venue than the Wanderers to try and win the series.

The Knights skipper, Theunis de Bruyn, told Courant he wants his team to express themselves this week and not worry what is happening in the other games.

“What is important is for the guys to go express themselves this week”, said De Bruyn.

“Forget about the possible outcome because there are so many permutations; that team needs to do that and there is weather around etcetera.

“The clear message to the team is just to concentrate on out inputs this week and enjoy the last four-day game of the season.

“We’ve done really well throughout the campaign, we are there and here and there I have been some brilliant individual performances.

“It would be great if we could have a great all-round team performance and just really enjoy each other’s company on the field.

“If the trophy is meant to be it’s meant to be, but we’ll see.”

The match between the Lions and Knights at the Bullring begins at 10:00.

In Benoni the Titans play in a home game against the Warriors and the Dolphins are at home to the Cape Cobras at Kingsmead. This match gets underway at 9:00.
